Amazon Village – Amazon Star Turismo

The Amazon Village is classified by EMBRATUR the Brazilian Tourism Authority as a “Special Ecological Lodging”. The Village has a central “open air” lounge/restaurant surrounded by bungalows.

Location: 30 km (18.75 mi.) from Manaus, on the banks of Puraquequara Lake, upstream Puraquequara River. Due to the acidity of the water (pH factor) in this region mosquitoes do not proliferate.Transfer: access is restricted to boats and guests are picked up at either the airport or hotel and transferred by vehicle to the CEASA port for boat transfer to the Village. The trip is on board a local river boat and takes approximately 2:30/3 hrs passing by the ” Meeting of the Waters” and taking a side channel of the Negro river to the Lodge. The transfer is in itself a very pleasant experience.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
The regional boat is not air-conditioning

For safety procedures, the maximum luggage allowance on board is 5 kg (11 lb) per person. Heavier pieces of luggage and other bags may be stored at appropriate storage facilities at the offices of Amazon Village’s office in Manaus

The Amazonian draught takes place in the months of September thru December when waters are low. During this period, the final part of the transfer to reach the Village will be on canoe and guests will have to walk 300 m (330 yds).

Transfers and local excursions are on seat-in-vehicle or boat basis and are subject to change or cancellation, without previous notice, depending on weather conditions and/or water level.

The Lodge: 45 apartments in 21 bungalows. All units with mosquito screened windows, two single beds, private bathroom with shower and veranda with a hammock. Maximum capacity, 90 guests in double rooms. Reception, bar, lounge area and terrace for sunbathing, reading or just relaxing. Packages include all 3 main meals of a day as well as snacks between activities. Buffet meals include local produce, beef, fresh water fish, vegetables and a number of tropical fruits.
